Street Photography: NYC

The streets of New York are teeming with energy, diversity, art, culture, and, of course, humanity.

While my focus tends to be on the architecture and geometry and vibe of neighborhoods, I do occasionally take the opportunity to document some of the people and moments that are constantly unfolding around me.

I hope you enjoy seeing my view of the streets of NYC.

Street Photography

I’ve ready quite a few articles that attempt to define Street Photography as a genre. And while various explanations include a very broad scope of what might be included in the genre, I feel quite safe in saying that the vast majority of my photos are not Street. As a matter of fact, most of my photos do not include people at all. Rather, I tend to look at what people have built or left behind - from buildings to art and anything in between.

But I am still fully aware of the people of New York who pass me by on my photo walks. And, once in a while, I’m inspired to capture something of what I see in them - and from them.

The result is what you see on this page and the full gallery linked below. From Manhattan to Brooklyn to Queens, here is a sample of what you can see on the streets of New York City.
