On May 15, 2022 I set out to walk the entire length of Austin Street - from its beginnings in Kew Gardens, through Forest Hills and ending in Rego Park. Afterwards, I spent some time exploring Rego Park and backtracking through Forest Hills Gardens.
The entire trek took 10.2 miles to complete and resulted in 677 photos. Check out a highlight gallery and a link to the full photo shoot below:
Hello, Brooklyn!
I spent 8 hours walking through Bushwick today. Amazing! Hereās a preview of the results! This building was erected in 1872 as a brewery. Today, it showcases the creativity and artistry of the neighborhood.

On Park Avenue you will find swanky high-rise residences and soaring office buildings. But there are occasional interlopers who bring a sense of perspective to this famous avenue. This one, titled āLooking Upā provided its own unique point of view back in 2016.

There is a hidden place in The Bowery called Freeman Alley. At the far end is a restaurant and bar far out of time. It is said that on hot August nights apparitions appear to visit this way stop on their journeys into the night ā¦

On 84th Avenue at 115th Street is the border from Kew Gardens to Richmond Hill. Taken from the Kew Gardens side, the light was streaming out of Richmond Hill to illuminate this dreamy image. Click below to see more:

Samhain 2018
Ok so!
First the bad news: A few years ago, I made a terrible mistake. I needed to reformat a hard drive and, instead of the one I intended, I reformatted the hard drive containing ALL of my photography files.
All of them.
And I hadn't recently backed up the drive ... and hadn't processed much of anything in that time ... meaning, I lost over a full year's worth of photos.
The loss was crushing. And I only just recovered to the point where I could start taking photos again this year.
Five missing years of lost photos and lost opportunities.
But today I found something ... not the full measure of what I'd mistakenly thrown away ... but a sliver. Two days. From October 2018.
It doesn't undo the loss. But the chance to go back into time to a place that I thought was gone forever? To see where I was at a time that was lost - both literally and metaphorically?
This was a special gift!
The photos aren't great. They aren't my best. But it was a joy to find them, return to them, and be able to (finally) upload them:

I know it pales in comparison to what is going on in the world. I understand the context. But for me, personally, this was a good day.
